You can't have both the HDMI audio and the regular PC's audio - you can only have one default playback device. When you want to use the regular PC sound card you have to select that, when you want to use HDMI you select that. I have a GTS450 video card. The following command did not work. No errors, but no audio. Code: speaker-test -D hdmi:CARD=NVidia -c 2 /dev/urandom. This command did work. I can hear static from the left and right channels.
