24p audio out of sync - Kodi

    https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=127006
First of all thanks to the xbmc team, amazing work you're doing! Unfortunately one thing has been bothering me a while now: When I'm playing a movie with 24p, audio is out of sync (around 100-300ms). First of all, I read a lot regarding this problem in similar threads around this board, however I could not get it to work properly.

24p and audio sync issues - Kodi

AV Sync method: Audio Clock Decoding method: Hardware DXVA2: Enabled With these exact settings and a freshly started XBMC (Jerky after 1+ day) I get perfect sync on 24p material. If I change only Vertical Blanc Sync to: Enabled, I get about 200 +/- ms out of sync. So for your requests: (a) vsync turned on, method video clock and resample audio.

69675 – audio broken in 24Hz/24p since 3.11 (regression)

IIRC it was the XBMC people that wanted the ntsc variants in the first place as their player defaults to sync to video exactly and would need to resample sound at 24Hz because of this (blu-ray are 24/1.001). Assuming you can reproduce the issue just using mplayer playing a CD - then I can't, maybe your receiver is just more fussy than my TV.

FYI, this is often referred to as the "24p audio sync bug." The "24p" meaning 24 frames per second, progressive scanning. Update: I was able to get this working acceptably by following information to set the audio delay to 175ms. However, in XBMC 13 the remote would stop working when the refresh rate changed so I didn't use it.

i did however when a video was playing have to open up the audio setting at top of screen and add some delay to my audio sync, apart from this there is nothing else needed todo, just sit back and watch your film, all films will have the same delay in sync so setting the sync just the once covers you for all 24p films. Xbmc has settings in it that are akin to reclock but these …

XBMC audio sync problems - Media players - Whirlpool

I noticed my Plasma handles framerate, Pulldown Judder and sync issues much better than my Samsung LCD. Try downloading a xbmc nightly build (dev) and setting audio output to WASAPI (HDMI Device) I have a Linux box with xbmc also – works well though Windows graphics drivers are vastly superior + I am using xbmc pvr with a FTR TV tuner backend.

The Auto (24p) mode is just like Auto, except when it detects 23.976Hz/24Hz and then switches to Cinema mode. When I use Auto (24p) and change refresh rates, it does appear to switch to Cinema automatically!

23.972 instead of real 23.976 (NTSC 24p/23Hz) you can see that sync is drifting away and must be synced (-> drop or double a frame) but in 50Hz mode this isn't the case. You can't compare that two things. Here you can see the little the steps I don't want to have in 23.976
