FLAC files are 2ch 16bit 44.1kHz audio (D/A converter Beresford Caiman is only able to deal with 2ch PCM files). In WD TV Live settings I have for audio output seting as Digital. Hovewer, when I try to play an MKV movie with multi channel audio, all I get out from the D/A converter is cracking sound (and I think that is the way it should be).

Audio output is set to Stereo and up to now no issues with any dolby digital audio (hadn’t tried a DD Plus though !) Unfortunately, I get no audio from the Dolby Digital Plus encodings.

I have a very simialr setup (WDTV Live, Denon 2310, Sony LCD, etc…) and the exact same problem. AAC 5.1 audio tracks on mp4 files will not play 5.1 audio when the WDTV Live audio setting is set to digital. However, I also have an Astone 110D media player and it plays the video and 5.1 audio on mp4 files perfectly.
