Hello again! Does anybody know if SynthEdit 1.4 (almost newest version, maybe somewhere around version 642, or any other version) has Audio To MIDI capabilities? I could have sworn I saw an Audio To MIDI module on an older version, but now I don't see it anymore on the list, maybe I was mistaken though. That would be an awesome feature!

I still could have sworn there was an Audio to MIDI module at some point in the SynthEdit history. There was a plugin released by mindthepressure.org (I think) that has SynthEdit controls (looks like it dos at least), and does Audio to MIDI, maybe that's why I thought there was Audio to MIDI. Thanks anyways.

Lol Well I really cannot easily figure out any interpretation for "audio to midi" other than a contraption which detects the audio pitch and xslates it to midi notes. If so, once my spectral pitch detector is ready it could be used to the purpose together with the TriggerToMidi module which you mentioned, even just to control an internal synth since midi can't be output currently

Oh, sorry folks, I thought you got that part where I said it was Audio to MIDI. Only Audio signal in (or generated oscillators, etc.), then interpreted as the pitch, then outputted as MIDI notes (and whatever other MIDI stuff that can be interpreted). :) Back to the topic, I think these are the only To-MIDI modules in SE (that you can use only inside the plugin, no MIDI Out, as we all know it). Chris, what are you trying to achieve? Do you have an example for the Audio input, and an example for the MIDI output? i.e. Audio In = solo instrument, MIDI Out = gates and notes to trigger/play a synth.

Only Note, Controller and SYSEX messages can be received by a plugin, plugins do not currently send any MIDI. Plugins receive MIDI only on channel 1.
