It is Plug and Play for the most part with Sonar (as in I do not need to install anything extra to play softsynths) but the transport buttons need to be mapped manually.

However after some experimentation with mapping the Transport buttons to X1 using the Generic Control Surface thingie it does not seem to be necessary for Sonar users.

    It was recognized by Cakewalk Sonar though. I convinced the seller there was a compability issue with the latest Cakewalk verison and he took it back. Third and current attempt is a recently bought M-Audio Oxygen 25 USB MIDI controller. Same behaviour as with the previous one. It is recognized by Cakewlak Sonar but not by Cakewalk by BandLab.
