The Summit Audio 2ba-221 was my first dedicated mic-pre other than an old Art TubeMP. The 2ba is a half rack pre and DI. The Mic Pre and DI are separate and can be mixed together although I have never found an occasion to do so.

When I contacted Summit (now owned by Blue Microphones) about this, they said it was wired correctly. I would call this a pretty major design flaw, especially since their documentation shows acoustic instruments being plugged directly into the 2BA-221. The fact is, it simply doesn't work, and with its current design, it never will.

I've had my Summit Audio 2BA-221 for 15yrs+ Wonderful sound warms up SM57 on guitar cabinets, great for Direct Acoustic and Classical guitars, Bass sounds warm and full. I have yet to change the preamp tube, so far "Very Pleased" with this product and will continue to use it in my recording studio.
