Ther is a cheap and easy way. The radio is fed a vehicle speed signal (VSS). If you remove this signal the radio volume will not be automatically adjusted. VSS is on pin A1. Just clip the wire. Easiest way is to pull the radio. It's not hard. I found the automatic volume adjustment a good feature with the top down but annoying with the top up.
