    The Sonos Amp has good DACs and has a good amp in it. Both of these can give you audiophile type quality. And yes as AFT metntions above you can always use a connect hooked to amp/speakers of your choice. Beyond those it the rest of the line becomes more about good quality and convienience - and of course great multiroom.

    From my own listening experience, Sonos Play:5s are capable of audiophile quality, with some assistance, but the smaller units are not. My main system's driven through B&W speakers, and there's nothing Sonos makes that will compare to the sound I get from that system.

    Stereophile has a very hard time putting something of the Sonos price point in the Class A category; if they did, their audiophile readers would be very annoyed with that. Better to read their measurement/comments after testing Sonos ZonePlayers back in the day when that is what Connect/Connect Amp were called.
