The drop outs happen consistantly at certain spots (high audio level regardless of volume level). I have tried both the PS3 and the Samsung Blu-Ray player. From the Samsung both Optical and Coaxial. Works fine w/ every thing ells, just not Blu-Ray.

I don't watch Blu Rays that often but two recently have had lip sync errors occur part way through the film. I'm using a 60GB PS3 connected to an Onkyo 876 receiver and on to a Sony HW10 projector, all connections with HDMI (all devices 1.3). The non-progressive sections would have the telecine encoded into the video (probably), which could perhaps explain why the audio goes out of synch. If your DVD isn't 100% FILM, as described in my previous post, then you should IVTC it or detelecine it, or whatever the hell Handbrake or Vidcoder call it.
