My favourite two by far were the Monitor Audio RS6 and RS8's... I really liked both. After much haggling I managed to get the prices as follows: RS6 (in any finish) and 6m (3 per side) terminated Van Den Hul CS122 cable £545 £499 with no cables. RS8 (in any finish) and 6m (3 per side) terminated Van Den Hul CS122 cable £675. £629 with no ...

As David said the RX6 is smoother than the RS6 (only huge difference to my ears). The RX6 will pair well with most electronics. The RS6's sound slightly sharper but are much more defined up top in my opinion. I prefer to use RS speakers with warmer electronics to get the ideal sound but retaining that detail.

Years Active 2005-2009. Incorporating a 6” C-CAM bass driver, a 6” C-CAM bass/mid driver, and a 1” Gold Dome C-CAM tweeter, the RS6 is a svelte floor-stander, equally at home in stereo and multi-channel applications. Its dynamic expression, natural voicing, and taut bass power will deliver outstanding levels of refinement and resolution.

Monitor Audio RS6 vs. RS8. A recent opportunity to pick up a pair of MA RS8's caught my attention. I haven't hear the RS8's but wanted to know how they would run against the RS6 and "price ignored", which is the better speaker with a Bryston 3B-ST. I did find this thread, and Nick's impressions were that he likes the RS6.

Comparisons. I compared the Monitor Audio Silver RS6 ($999/pair) with three other loudspeakers: the NHT SB3 ($600/pair), the Epos M5 ($695/pair), and the Amphion Helium 2 ($1000/pair). The NHT SB3 was sweet, warm, and romantic in the midrange, but with less inner detail and less extended highs than the Monitor RS6.

PSB T55 vs Monitor Audio RS6 | AVS Forum

The RS6's real wood veneer cabinets are much nicer than the finish on the PSB's. The overall form and smaller size are pluses too. The RS6 is a bit more expensive, but for me, speakers are a longer term purchase, and the difference was money well spent. You may want to check the Monitor Audio Owners Threadfor comments on using the RS6 in a HT.

The Silver RX tweeter is more sensitive and has a wider bandwidth than the Silver RS6 version; Monitor tells me that the RS6's slight peak around 11kHz is absent in the RX6, and that this makes it a more suitable partner for brighter-sounding electronics.

Monitor Audio RS6 or RX6 impressions - Audio

denon and Monitor Audio are a great matchup. i have listened to RS6 (own RS8) but not yet listened to the RX6 – read that has better mids. If you listen to music much, a Marantz receiver would be a better match than Denon. I was about to purchase the RS6's when I heard of the RX range release.
