In combination with the DTS decoder from TMT, LAV Audio is capable of full high quality DTS-HD decoding. DTS-HD is the most common audio format to be found on Blu-rays, and before LAV Audio, it was quite a chore to get full decoding of this format – not anymore. With LAV Audio, decoding DTS-HD is as simple as decoding any other audio format.

The status tab of LAV Audio decoder 0.50.1 properties shows 6 channels of LPCM input playing and being output to 6 channels PCM. My Yamaha RX-V1900 receiver strangely only shows 2 channel PCM when set to straight (no DSP). Bitstreaming DTS-HD MA works great thanks to this guide! I have a Geforce 560Ti connected by HDMI to my Yamaha receiver.

I'll use your approach of using lav audio to downmix and I'll use 0.71, 0.71 and 1.58 as recommended. My main reason for trying to use wasapi in various cases (winamp / mpc) is so that I can play a mix of say 44.1khz and 48khz content, and my understanding is with wasapi there should be no conversion, where as without it, the mixer is ...

Posted 09 July 2013 - 08:54 AM. The downmixing is controlled by the audio decoder, not ZP. Check the settings on LAV or FFDShow audio decoder (whichever you're using for the audio format these files have) for how speaker configuration is set up. It's not really going to be an issue with the TV handling it right now.

I'm pretty sure there might be a plug-in/add-on for VLC to add an audio decoder that can downmix surround sound to stereo. I use MPC-HC with a couple of plug-ins and I have LAV Audio decoder to help downmix to stereo. If u have no plug-ins, I think the audio switcher in the options menu in MPC-HC will work the same way. 1. level 2.

I had a look at the way of couple of decoders downmix. By default, LAV Audio decreases the centre channel volume by 3dB, the surround channels are reduced by 3dB and it doesn't include the LFE channel at all. ffdshow mixes the centre channel at -3dB, the rear channels without reducing their volume, and it includes the LFE channel at -3dB.
