The original Kestrel was the speaker that built Meadowlark Audio. It was a clever design with time-aligned drivers, first order crossovers, and transmission line bass. This Review is for the Kestrel 2. After checking out all the big names in audio speakers many times a friend lead me to the Meadowlark line of speakers. I auditioned many speakers in higher price ranges and these are just plain better. Imaging is outstanding, the best I have heard. The Bass is tight and very good for the speakers size.

The Kestrel II is certainly a better looking speaker than the original Kestrel and to many people may sound better. I owned the Kestrel II for about six months and really tried to like it but it just didn't excite me. The sound was good and maybe had a more audiophile quality to it. To me that is a more sterile sound.
