    I have both BM5a and BM5a MKII hooked up to a BM9s subwoofer. Comparison done by Martin W in above post is accurate. BM5a MKII has a lot more bass and emphasis on lower-mid. I set high frequency pass at 60Hz so the LFE performance is irrelevant. I will have to say, BM5a sounds a bit sweeter, cleaner. and pairs better with a sub.
