DVD flick is to slow, takes approx 1-2 hours per avi/divx movies. I do enjoy the simplicity of the program, but I have around 50 movies to convert and the process is just too long. Nero vision could convert/burn in 30 minutes, but do not want to upgrade license, to Nero 9 just to use Nero vision. With nero I just drag/drop file, click burn.

(Solved) - Using DVD Flick « How-To Geek Forums

My videos are usually WLMM output and thus in .wmv format which DVD Flick cannot deal with. I therefore always convert it to .avi with FF. But in your case there does not seem to be a need for conversion because DVD Flick seems to accept it. Maybe next time you should try with .avi and see whether you run into the same problem.

Use a 4.7 GB DVD for movies 2 hour or less (you might stretch to 2.5 hours without any great concerns). Use an 8.5 GB DVD-DL (Double Layer) for movies over 2 hours. DVD Flick will force a large file (3 hour movie) into the space of a smaller file (2 hour movie). Even though it can compress the larger files there will be some trade-offs in the process.

Also note DVD Flick is a mature program that works well right out of the box while the others will take some codec fiddling. CXD3 is probably the fastest of the bunch and is both stable and mature. It has many useful functions for cropping/padding and audio choices.
