I have a Droid X and my headphone jack is starting to get loose, too. If I jiggle the plug in the jack (as happens when I run) it'll lose connection. Some googling turned up a few others with the same problem. The phone has a 1 year warranty so get it replaced. I hear you'll probably get a refurbished phone as a replacement.

There are some real issues with the droid's headphone jack.. My friend had one who's jack was basically unusable, you honestly couldn't even plug it in and lay it down and have it play well. Supposedly its not soldered or anything in anyway to the other circuit boards, and held solely by pressure, making the entire jack loose within it's housing.
