To switch over to the native Vista audio driver, I uninstalled the Dell audio driver, then went into both the Dell directory and the audio directory and deleted the audio drivers. I then restarted the e6500 and windows vista automatically downloaded and installed the native vista driver. I'm running Vista Ultimate (32-bit).

I had some trouble with my sound settings on the e6500, but I'm running Windows 7 All you could do probably is uninstall the drivers (through the hardware manager) and try reinstalling them. Installing the Dell drivers gave me an IDT sound manager, so perhaps download the newest drivers using your service tag.
