EDIT: So I looked around, and I have a 16 ft turn-on wire running from my amp to a 20A fuse in my fuse box. I'm guessing that means when I turn the car off and on the amp will do the same.

The E-shutoff has to kill the car, in the event of a fire,,etc., where the guy on the starting line can shut you off immediately, if he sees a problem. I have VERY BASIC knowledge of electricity. I guess I don't see why a relay would be required, if the alternator power ONLY went to the battery side of the switch.
