Do you know what apple changed with the new smc.kext in 10.7.4? will there be any side-effects in using the "old" kext (like sleep issues)? so i understand the my smc on my late 2009 imac (i7) might be not compatible to the new smc.kext in 10.7.4. meaning apple would also have to update the smc itself?

It turns out this isn't just hackintosh related as it is all over the official apple support forums such as HERE. There seems to be a problem with the 10.7.4 version of AppleSMC.kext so as suggested I have extracted the kext from the 10.7.3 combo update (as I no longer have a 10.7.3 install) and reinstalled it using kextbeast.

It could get onto the internt with nothing more than IONetworkingFamily.kext. Upon updating from 10.7.2 to 10.7.4 I lost my internet connection. I got Lnx2Mac's Realtek RTL81xx Driver to load and in the system profile it shows my Realtek LAN interface but I can't get ethernet to show up in the system settings menu.

Worked perfectly since 10.5-10.7.4. Using the 10.7.4 AppleUSBAudio.kext in ML does appear to fix it. Thoughts? Fixes? etc .
