ZSNES sound lag and stutter [Archive] - Ubuntu Forums

    https://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-197629.html
Mine sound was staticy, so what I heard to do was to install the package libsdl1.2debian-oss, and it worked perfectly. It'll remove the package libsdl1.2debian-alsa, but if this trick doesn't work you should be able to switch back to it easily. Thanks a lot for posting this, it fixed my staticy sound in zsnes.

Advanced Usage - ZSNES Documentation

    http://zsnes-docs.sourceforge.net/html/advanced.htm
Because ZSNES must encode the output stream as it is generated, ZSNES may delay the output of new frames of video/audio to give more time to MEncoder/LAME to compress the current frame. This means that you should not worryif you see the playback of your movie slow down while ZSNES is dumping it. The dumped file(s) will play back at full speed!

ZSNES input delay - Speed Demos Archive

It won't remove it all unless you're on a lagless monitor or TV.
Turn off VSYNC in the preferences to your emulator. Usually that is what causes input delay.
In particular, this will remove 0-1 frames of visual latency (0.5 average). It won't remove it all unless you're on a lagless monitor or TV.
