I am new to zoneminder, having been a BlueIris user for many years. I have IP cams capable of doing audio and video (DLINK DCS 930L cams). These work great in BlueIris, but I was shocked to find that zoneminder does not seem to support audio at all. I know my cams are sending audio, albeit as a separate stream from the video.

Audio support would be great I donated a small amount now, will donate again if ZM record sound - see it as a carrot I just installed ZM for the first time to a small portable system, actually running off a USB stick based on Mageia2 liveCD, and handle one USB camera.

The audio recording is under the storage tab (Camera settings). Set the Video Writer to H264 Camera Passthrough and then tick the bottom option. Replay including audio works in both zoneminder web and zmninja. 2 Reply Share ReportSaveFollow More posts from the ZoneMinder community 3 Posted by2 days ago

Most modern IP cameras are ONVIF compliant, which means they should work with ZoneMinder because ONVIF is a standard that is widely supported. However, not all cameras are compliant. Cameras which only work with "cloud" services or proprietary apps may not work with any third party recording software.

Hi everyone! Just started with zoneminder as I recently discovered the RTSP version for my Wyze cam so I flashed that the other day and installed zoneminder via docker from this repo, added my camera and turned on continuous recording mode and added my NAS as storage. However, every single split video gets their own folder and an unhelpful name like '70-video.mp4'.

Audio when viewing a monitor live : ZoneMinder

2 level 1 just_another_citizen · 1y Live view does not support audio, saddly. However your recordings may have audio with the right setting such as h264 pass through. For live viewing, I use vlc to connect to the camera. That works better for mobile anyways 3 View Entire Discussion (2 Comments) More posts from the ZoneMinder community 3 Posted by

My opinion: Zoneminder vs. Motioneye vs. Shinobi - Third ...

Zoneminder: Audio support: yes, but not to trigger camera: none: yes, and to trigger recording! Shinobi: Web Interface: Tons of options because ZM has been around a long time. Front page shows all camera’s states at a glance. Various ways to review recordings. Clean and snappy! Well organized option set, but limited configuration options.

The most common trigger is X10 and this will appear here if you indicated that your system supported it during installation. Only X10 is supported as a shipped trigger with ZoneMinder at present but it is possible that other triggers will become available as necessary.
