X-Fi Xtreme Gamer vs. Xtreme Audio PCI-E | OCAU Forums

So what it all boils down to is this: I've seen a PCI-E X-Fi called the Extreme Audio, and it's only $85 at Umart, compared to the $159 of the Xtreme Gamer or the $250ish of the Azuentech Prelude at other places. From what I can see it has Crystaliser and CMSS-3D but has something called 'EAX Advanced HD' instead of EAX 5.0.

Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio or Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer I will be using my computer for the following: 1. Music - every day 2. Games - somewhat often 3. Movies - on occasion The Xtreme Gamer is nearly double the price of the Xtreme Audio but I was wondering how well they would be for what I want.

Xtrememusic vs XtremeGamer - Audio Hardware ...

    https://forums.overclockersclub.com/topic/76613-xtrememusic-vs-xtremegamer/
X-Fi Xtreme Gamer has hardware effects processing and does have the X-Fi chip. It is as good as Xtreme Music but has the standard front panel connector instead of that proprietary drive bay connector on the Xtreme Music. You confuse this card with Xtreme Audio. These are two very different cards - despite similar look.

The Xtreme Gamer i bought came with a Windows XP 64-bit driver cd. But i use my Xtreme Gamer with Vista 32-bit and seems to be fine with that. Edit: turns out the X-Fi series driver on creative.com does support Windows Vista 64-bit and there is also a beta Windows 7 driver. So there you go.
