    "Classic" XDCAMHD, as per Sony's Standard (who invented this format) has 8 Channels of mono audio. That's what you'll find in pretty much all documentation. What you put on those 8 CH is totally up to you, depending on what you are asked. Could be 4 stereo pairs, one 5.1 + stereo, 8 independent audio stems, whatever.. There is no panning involved.
