Exactly! Sync Playback to Display is still there, but it's "Video Clock" by default and makes only sense when "Resample Audio" is chosen as method. This was not removed nor changed. Edit. Since XBMC / Kodi version 13 you need to set “Settings level” to Expert in order to see all options. Go to Settings > Video > Playback. Choose Adjust display refresh rate to match video = Always. Choose Sync playback to display. in A/V sync method choose Video clock (resample audio). Not available in Kodi 15.x.

Playback was great. That was with it lying out and all the final bells and whistles not in place. i.e. booted to desktop, opened xbmc and then used it. I'd previously just plugged the drive into my tv before I built this htpc, and it always played back fine too.

I found that in Video -> Playback I had to disable Sync playback to display and the AV sync method set to Resample audio. The videos affected will now only play with Sync playback to display disabled when in the past this has always been on. There is something not right. Was working fine last night.
