You can use XBMC to play videos, but that is regular AirPlay, i.e., audio/video/photos from some apps. However, that is not AirPlay Mirroring. I can get AirPlay to play YouTube videos from my iPad onto my TV through AppleTV. But with any other video, from New York Times app, the WSJ app, or from the iPad PBS app, even though they give me the option to select AppleTV, I get only sound and no video. The airplay icon on the ATV screen say Unknown/Untitled.
