The minix is connected directly through HDMI to a surround system that notifies me 2 channels audio. The 5.1 audio works properly with MX player but I' ve many directories and I prefer Kodi navigation system.

I didn't fully realize what XBMC is doing until I started listening very closely, and it's even more strange than I first suspected.

I've played with all of the various XBMC Audio Output options, and nothing brought the voices out until I finally set the output to 2 channel. So then I went hunting, 7.1, no voices, 5.1, no voices. 4.1, works fine. I don't mind leaving it set to 4.1, but I do have a center channel.
