I will be playing mainly lossless audio from my iPod (using a dock to RCA connection) or MacBook w/ Presonus Firebox. I ordered the Sennheiser HD650 headphones. To be honest, I've never tried them. I chose them after reading hundreds of posts comparing headphones like the HD650, K701, DT880, etc. I plan on recabling them soon enough.

I had the chance to audition a STAX 009 headphone paired with the Blue Hawaii SE amplifier. I then tested the HD-650 through a Woo Audio WA6 amp. I was surprised at how well the HD-650 held up against the STAX. I give the HD-650 a big thumbs up.

I have been using the HD650's for about 10 years, driven by the Woo Audio WA2 (and a large assortment of tubes) and have become extremely used to the HD650's sonic characteristics. However, after getting some PS500's and DT770's, I'd like to upgrade the HD650's to something a bit more revealing.
