1. Press Windows key + X and click on Control Panel. 2. Select small icons under view by category and click on Troubleshooting. 3. Click on view all. 4. WMP12 doesn't play the audio when viewing a DVD movie, but when I use Media Center, then everything works. Any advice on how to reinstall/enable the needed audio codec into WMP12 ? I tried to disable/enable WMP12, but this didn't solve it, neither does changing the settings for filetypes etc connected to WMP.

On our test computers DVD could be played in WMP 12 without any issues. Since the issue occurs before you installed any other programs, if the issue occurs on all of the DVD, I suspect that the audio driver which is for Windows Vista that is not compatible with Windows 7 RC or WMP 12. When I play a DVD in the drive with WMP 12 there is no sound and the screen goes corrupt a few seconds in. I installed PowerDVD and it played the DVD disc without issues. I'd still prefer using Windows Media Player if possible. At first I thought it was my video card but with no sound ether I'm not sure where the issue is.

Hi everybody. I have a strange problem. Although I am able to play mkv files with avc video files inside using WMP12 in Windows 7, there a couple of files that although they play perfectly with vlc or divx player, with wmp I only get the audio. Any suggestions (apart from using some other player since I use media center connected to my tv)?
