    For the record, Windows 10 Technical Preview has the same support in this area as Windows 8.1: native support for USB 1.0, USB 2.0, and USB 3.0 controllers. native support for USB Audio 1.0 audio devices. but, as you point out, USB Audio 2.0 devices require a third-party driver.
