When I experience choppy sound, I reboot the comptuer(s) and sound will be okay for a few hours. I have no idea what can trigger to be the sound slightly choppy again. Sound is both when playing movies using Windows Media Center (on my home PC cause I don't watch movies at work lol :D), when listening to music using media player or Winamp.

There are several threads here abt realtek drivers and choppy sound. First thing I would suggest is to read them to find out if your audio card (or driver) is a problem. Go find the newest driver for your audio card. You might also want to put your system specs in user cp it would help us diagnose things faster.

Playing audio in 44,1 runs in about half speed, and then the opposite happened after a reboot. I ran this app one last time, and the sound card clicked (X-FI Elite pro) And it went back to normal.. Probably Creative cards only, but it wasn't working, stuttering sound etc. - April 19, 2007 by Bjorn A
