No the Wii has all the wires it needs, you need the composite AV cable that was supplied with your tv to connect the two audio cables. My wii works perfectly fine. The only issue I have is when I boot it up (Red light to green light), sound comes out of the tv, but no video is shown. I have gone through five different brands and types of wii video/audio cables and nothing has worked. I think it has something to do with the video plug inside the console.

Wii Turns On But No Video Signal -- Not Even A Black ...

To be clear, not a black screen ... just no signal. Power supply and video cables both tested with a known good Wii. From standby red LED, turns on (green LED) and DVD drive whirs twice as usual (blue drive LED blinks once). Cooling fan is spinning. Need to press and hold the power button for several seconds to turn the Wii off.
