Wii powers on, with sound but no video. - Nintendo Wii ...

My wii works perfectly fine. The only issue I have is when I boot it up (Red light to green light), sound comes out of the tv, but no video is shown. I have gone through five different brands and types of wii video/audio cables and nothing has worked. I think it has something to do with the video plug inside the console.

No Video from Wii - Audio only - Retrogaming Roundtable

Sorry to bump such an old thread but I recently got a Wii with this problem I tested it with my component hook-ups and everything worked fine so I tried it with the composite hook-ups and the problem was as described, sound but no video. Doing some research I found the composite video circuit can go out leaving only the component circuit working.

Wii Turns On But No Video Signal -- Not Even A Black ...

I determined that it was actually working without video by connecting only the audio cable and using the video cable of an xbox. The tv we were using would not go to the source and play the audio without video, so I had to trick it into having a video signal then it loaded the xbox screen with the wii audio.

Wii. Video ok but no audio - AVForums

No the Wii has all the wires it needs, you need the composite AV cable that was supplied with your tv to connect the two audio cables. (see the pics above of the manual) You plug the white and red audio cables into the corresponding cables of the AV cable for your TV then plug that into the AV input on the TV (located under the CI Card In)
