Wii powers on, with sound but no video. My wii works perfectly fine. The only issue I have is when I boot it up (Red light to green light), sound comes out of the tv, but no video is shown. I have gone through five different brands and types of wii video/audio cables and nothing has worked. I think it has something to do with the video plug ...

wii has sound but no video | AfterDawn Discussion Forums

After the Wii boots plug the AV cables in (without turning off the Wii). If this works go into settings and change the video setting from 480p back to 480i. Using a component cable plug the green wire into the yellow jack and you will get black and white so you can at least see the menu to change the video from 480p to 480i. larrylje, May 25, 2009

The tv we were using would not go to the source and play the audio without video, so I had to trick it into having a video signal then it loaded the xbox screen with the wii audio. In the end this made me realize it had to be the video out for some reason.

No Video from Wii - Audio only. So my buddy brings me over his Wii, I guess because I'm the only gamer geek he knows, and says "we get sound but no picture." I plugged it into two different televisions each with two different composite connection cables and in each instance, I got only sound and no picture. I'm assuming this rules out their TV ...
