It’s definitely not for DTS-HD because WD will never support it for the current Live range (Live, Plus and Hub). Note: WD does not support DTS technology on the original WD TV HD Media Player (WDAVx00) or the WD TV Mini Media Player. Just FYI, the WDTV and most of the other more popular first-party big brand media players can’t stream DTS-HD due to some licensing issues. The Live Hub can bitstream Dolby TrueHD through HDMI but not DTS-HD. Instead, it will just pass through the DTS core file.

wdtv live downmixes to stereo with the hdmi and mkv's, i own it, the regular wdtv didnt downmix but this one does. wmvhd doesnt have sound though will have to use amplifier for those, but have had no problems with all the mkvs i have including the ones with dts.
