Result: Video fine. Audio fine as well…but the WD TV live automatically started playing the audio from 2nd audio stream i.e., dolby digital and not trueHD. Using the option menu I tried to switch to audio 1 (trueHD), but it is saying something like ‘unsupported audio codec’. I am surprised to see different behaviour here.

WD TV Live Hub ==> Yamaha RX-V667 ==> Pioneer Plasma Only got new amp after Christmas, so was hoping this would work from hub and glad it does perfectly. Just need to re-rip my BluRays and HD-DVDs as I previously stripped out HD audio tracks to save space.

My WDTV Live (v1.02.21) plays TrueHD without any problems. I have it connected to a Denon 1910 receiver and the WDTV is set do Digital. It’s great to see the “HD Audio” blue light on the receiver and the sound is just excelent! TrueHD only works with M2TS container (maybe the next firmware will have TrueHD with MKV container…)

I have recently downloaded some movies which have the audio in DD TrueHD(Digital). However, there is no audio signal on the stereo output of the WDTV Live box, and my HD TV doesn’t seem to decode the audio signal either. It’s definitely not for DTS-HD because WD will never support it for the current Live range (Live, Plus and Hub). Hopefully WD do fix multichannel PCM (5.1 and 7.1), so that people with DTS-HD files can transcode the audio stream to PCM and play files with HD audio that way. Marde October 15, 2015, 3:26am #6

The video/subs are fine, but there is no audio at all. When selecting the audio stream, the player identifies it as a “DDTrueHD (Digital)” stream. I’m guessing the “Digital” part means the player is attempting to simply bitstream the audio. I understand the WDTV live is not capable of decoding the new lossless HD audio formats.
