I matched the AVI sync up with the MPG sync of the other conversion I did, and the audio is an exact match. I cannot tell if the video is an exact match, because their aspect ratios are a little off, but they look pretty good, except one file is a single frame longer than the other.

If I view the VOB's within PE, portions play just fine, but usually about 2/3 thru any VOB file, the audio goes "out of sync". Using VIrtualDub, or Win Movie Maker, I convert the VOB's to DV-AVI prior to import into PE, with the same results, the audio eventually goes "out of sync" when played within PE.

I experimented with one of the VOB files (that would lose audio sync with just one simple split), and Produced it to a Mpeg2 DVD HQ file, and also to a DV-AVI file.
