As expected (we've tested this previously), using USB connected inside the guest VM works just fine; no stuttering at all. Using USB on the host and passing through audio via default VMware driver to the host results in the same stuttering on the USB devices as the default sound card. This seems to point to VMware driver as being the culprit.
