Thank you for replying. I am new to vmWare and I do not understand your question. My procedure is: 1) Start host. 2) Start Guest. 3) Plug USB headset into USB port. 4) Receive notification pop-up that USB device can be shared -and then I accept and share the USB with the guest. Also, vmware wouldn't let me add an older unencrypted vmdk to an encrypted VM, so that was not going to work for me. One wonderful thing I learned in my snapshotting and cloning is that when you encrypt a VM that is a linked clone, vmware only encrypts the delta disk changes relative to the base system (and warns you that's what it's doing).
