After Vista SP1 installed, my Speakers/Headphones went silent yet the driver was still there and functioning properly. I uninstalled the driver, and let Windows auto-install another driver. (No Rollback was available) I was able to get sound from my Speakers. Speakers are the only thing that work whether I plug into the headphone jack or not.

I unsinstalled SP1 and after I restarted Windows said that the driver was successfully installed but that was not the case. When I look in device manager I see an Other Devices category with Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus. When I look at the properties this is what I see: The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

Why Dell hasn't released new drivers for all systems already, seeing as though SP1 has been in development for quite sometime, I don't know. So, I tried the other Dell drivers (for various other systems with the same sound chip) that have been suggested on the forum, but they just won't install.
