    Even when I launch a game the sound all over is static and unintelligible. So I unplugged the adapter and re-booted, the sound was fine again. The after plugging the adapter back the sound disappears altogether. If it helps, I use a Microsoft Lifechat LX-3000 headset (that uses USB as well) for my main speakers of sound.

    This product works well in os x. It may be the only product that can improve the sound quality of a macbook or macbook pro. Its funny because Asus doesn't even list os x as supported, but they have drivers that work well. It does advertise vista support. On vista audio is constantly dropping out, has lots of static and makes popping sounds frequently.
