Try installing the AC3 ACM Decompressor. That should help. This is the one!. Just right-click on the inf file and select install (I use Windows 7). I also used the AC3.zip previously mentioned. Place the AC3.vdplugin in the plugin folder under VirtualDub. Restart VirtualDub and it works Bam! That was it.

This worked but the quality of the picture is not as good but at least the audio is in sync. I put the file in virtualdubmod under stream line I clicked demux then took that put it in headac3 and made my wav. Then I put it in ffmpeggui and made my ac3. Then I put the file the avi into teh x-converter and made it no audio. That made a mute mpeg.
