Try installing the AC3 ACM Decompressor. That should help. This is the one!. Just right-click on the inf file and select install (I use Windows 7). I also used the AC3.zip previously mentioned. Place the AC3.vdplugin in the plugin folder under VirtualDub. Restart VirtualDub and it works Bam! That was it.

You should select Audio, Full processing, then file, save .wav in VirtualDub. Transcode the .wav to AC3 in ffmpeggui. If your source file is 23.976, then select NTSC DVD FILM in the wizard. This will encode at 23.976 with 3:2 pulldown for you. If you're not using the wizard, select the same things manually on the Settings screen (s).

I got it to work with the regular vdub app. I go to the capture section, and I can see my videotape playing, so at least I got that part right. However. I've got no audio. Help?

Click video, frame rate. Click on the second box 'change frame rate to ___ frames per second' and type in the number you want. 5. Click file, save as avi.

WMV imput filter v1.4 + Virtual Dub 1.7.7 problems

    https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php?topic=60975.0
No audio decompressor could be found to decompress the source audio format. (source format tag: 0161) If the cursed VirtualDub could actually allow me to save the audio stream, like the VDub Mod does (but he did not allow importing WMV, damn M$!), I would gladly decode and re-encode it externally, but... what now? FFD audio decode?

it says you don't have a audio decompressor on you're pc. you can download one for free, like ac3. you must have the ac3 deccompressor not the ac3 filter. if you have it you must paste your deccompressor into your virtualdub pluggins. now start virtualdub and go to file and then open video file.
