VirtualBox Audio Driver for Windows 7. I recently installed Windows 7 in VirtualBox, and unlike other OSes I’ve installed in VirtualBox, the sound driver wasn’t automatically recognized. I found a driver that works with both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. VirtualBox Windows 7 Driver. I installed this both before and after installing the Guest Additions, but it didn’t matter what order the driver …

Win 7 / 64-bit doesn't seem to recognize the virtual sound card at all, even when I explicitly select the realtek driver for it. I'm no beginner (though not as advanced on the windows side of things as the group here, hopefully!), and I'm stymied. Even looked around in the .inf to see if there was something to tweak. No luck. =====

    https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/2785
A new Audio Device (Intel HD Audio) has been added in VirtualBox version 4. This should fix the issue. Audio drivers should be available in Windows 7 for this audio device. Just change the VM setup to select Intel HD Audio as the audio controller. Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.

I can record sound in the Windows 7 Professional 64-bit host on a Dell Latitude E6410 laptop (using its built-in microphone), and I can play sounds in the Windows XP Professional SP3 guest. But no audio comes through to the guest. I've tried all audio controllers (Sound Blaster 16, ICH AC97, Intel HD Audio).

From the hosts terminal/command window type VBoxManage showvminfo <VM Name> --details and post here. Replace <VM Name> with the actual name of the VM. Use " " if the name has a space in it. Note if the host is Windows you need to be in the directory that has VBoxManage.exe for the command to work.

I have no audio in Windows 7 which shows "no audio devices are installed" Virtualbox Manager shows audio as pulseaudio for the Windows 7 VM. I also have Xubuntu as a VM in Virtualbox and the audio works fine with that machine.

#17225 (Audio distortion/skipping/stutter in Windows 7 ...

    https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/17225
Tested VirtualBox 5.2.32 on Windows 7 host and Windows XP/7 guests. Audio quality is good. There is no distortion/skipping/stutter. However, delay is built up while playing sound. Audio is in sync at start but drifts gradually. There is a 2 second delay after 2 hours of playing. It is noticeable when start, pause or resume playing.
