It's a Vincent S1.1. Apparantly built in China, it looks classy, plays HDCD and is a hybrid tube / solid state CD player. I can't find any reviews, but have found a comment or two on other forums, and it seems this unit has pretty soft and analogue-like sound.

Thank you all for the input. My plan would be to use the Vincent CD-S1.1 as a CD transport for my Benchmark DAC1 and listen to HDCDs via the Vincent's hybrid output on balanced outputs. I gave up on finding a good used HDCD player with balanced outputs. Too many had tracking and reading problems. Some can't handle CD-Rs or CD-RWs.

I think you need to give the S1.1 at least 30 hours to burn-in, before critical listening. Let's not forget that the Vincent S6 is a whole another animal, than the S1.1. The S6 is an excellent player on a much higer scale than the S1.1. As is the S3.
