The Johnson Viking II is noted to have poor sounding audio. Part is due to an undersized driver transformer and using a 6AU6 tube for the driver. Replace the driver transformer with a Hammond 124B and change the 6AU6 driver tube. A 6AU6 has no business driving the transformer in the 10-15ma range.
