Vari Audio is easier to use, the version of Melodyne that I used, I had to use it as rewire and go into the plugin to tell it what track to record then I had to let the track play while Melodyne recorded the part. That may have changed by now? I use Vari audio everyday, I can flatten bad vibrato, quantize notes, shorten them or make the longer.

variaudio is just as good as you does not hear a pitching effect on most pitched notes ±1tone. If you go extreme up to ±1 octave you can hear the effect of course but the sound does not sound just pitched, the algo tryes to hide the mickey mouse effect as good as melodyne does (my subjective notice).

Variaudio 3, i find for vocal pitch correction is considerably better than melodyne both in the final results it delivers, and in it's use and integration within Cubase (Especially with the chord track). I often read on forums that time correction is not as good as melodyne, but i never quantise vocals with it so can't give my own opinion there.

Yeah, VariAudio has nailed the implementation very well, and as mentioned it’s easier to make natural slides. But it does go towards distortions more easily than Melodyne when challenged by gravelly vocals or spitty delivery. Personally I have Melo as …

VariAudio vs Melodyne. Cubase. Nolan February 16, 2021, 7:01pm #1. Hi. I was wondering which of Melodyne or VariAudio you prefer and why? Are there any things you can do in Melodyne that you can’t do in VariAudio? VariAudio must be lighter on the CPU I assume?

In terms of sound quality, Waves is the best hands down to me. However it introduces a lot of latency and control is a nightmare. Melodyne GUI is perfect, flexible, fast, intuitive. Sound quality is lower to ensure zero latency operation. Variaudio is something between.

Melodyne can do polyphonic audio, VariAudio can't. That is the differentiating factor. Lower SKUs of Melodyne are useful mostly in DAWs that don't have native mono pitch correction (Studio One, SONAR/Cakewalk) or leverage the engine for specific tasks like Audio to …

Sep 11, 2015 #1 I was curious if anyone has a strong opinion one way or the other on which is better / more natural for vocal tuning / tightening. Technically Melodyne should have the better sound quality but VariAudio is so well integrated into Cubase that it has become the "go to" tool for tuning. Share Reply Quote Top Mentioned Manufacturers
