The upgrade offer to Melodyne Studio 4 before the 30th really is a no-brainer, and with that I don’t miss the integration of VariAudio so much because you can work multi-track; basically render stems, do the heavy lifting in MS4 with everything in context, then just pull the relevant tracks back into Cubase.

So I mostly use Melodyne because it works with polyphonic. I haven’t used VariAudio in awhile so can’t comment about its newer features and how those compare. Love Melodyne’s newish ability to easily remove sibilance.

Variaudio 3, i find for vocal pitch correction is considerably better than melodyne both in the final results it delivers, and in it's use and integration within Cubase (Especially with the chord track). I often read on forums that time correction is not as good as melodyne, but i never quantise vocals with it so can't give my own opinion there.

Gear Head. 🎧 10 years. As far as monophonic material like a vocal is to be improved within a reasonable range, VariAudio is a perfectly efficient tool. Very well integrated in the sample editor. Slick. Melodyne Editor can do polyphonic stuff. Absolutely weird and powerful.

Melodyne vs VariAudio : cubase - reddit

Melodyne can do polyphonic audio, VariAudio can't. That is the differentiating factor. Lower SKUs of Melodyne are useful mostly in DAWs that don't have native mono pitch correction (Studio One, SONAR/Cakewalk) or leverage the engine for specific tasks like Audio to …

Sep 11, 2015 #1 I was curious if anyone has a strong opinion one way or the other on which is better / more natural for vocal tuning / tightening. Cubase VariAudio versus Sonar V-Vocal (versus Melodyne ...

I've used Melodyne (sorry - no clue about Sonar) and am just getting used to Variaudio. While quality matters(to me) more than convenience, the way VA is set in Cubase means good corrections can be made very quickly. Melodyne definately has more controllable perameters but, for now, VariAudio covers most immediate needs.

But personally, I feel that Melodyne performed best in this benchmark. I haven't tested Logic's Flex Pitch, Cubase's VariAudio, AutoTune Pro, or Revoice Pro, but I would love to get my hands on those to try them at a later date. If anyone else wants to add their own experiences, or try this out in the plugins that I didn't try myself, please ...

variaudio is a bit painful when analyzing drums, i had to generate tone then gate it sidechained to a split of drumkit with everything but the lows filtered out, then variaudio analyzes the tone track and everything is hunky dory but velocities need to be attended to later.
