    the high ISR and DPC from USBPORT.SYS issue caused by KB2868038 is still valid . as for those instructions in the link, those do no good what so ever, the problem occurs whether im using internal or external sound. the sound drop outs are being caused by high ISR and DPC latency coming from USBPORT.SYS

    Im having the same usbport.sys problem. Picked up by LatencyMon. Iv tried cutting dwn on services & my computer is running fast as, but still is giving me audio drop & outs & spikes. I had everything riding smoothly until, turned on my computer one day & BAM.

After digging, I see that usbport.sys is used as driver by the device Intel 5 Series/3400 Sries Family USB Enhanced Host Controller. So, no way to disable it, I think.
