    plug you device in and open sonar go to Devices select your device. (put a check mark next to it) this happens often after a crash. and shouldn't be a big issue. sometimes even plugging and unplugging your device while sonar is open can reset this. when you plug your audio interface back in sonar will ask you if you want to use this device.

Some of the older versions have issues with sample rate changes especially if you're also using it for Windows sounds or any other sounds outside of SONAR. Check out my toonz @.

    Sonar was rejecting a 48K sample rate saying the Delta Audiophile 2496 audio card did not support that rate and automatically set the driver back to 44.1K. With the older driver, Sonar no longer complains about it and allows the project to run fine. I don't know if this is a Sonar issue or a M-Audio driver issue, but they both know about it now.

    Onboard sound chips do not have good drivers, pre-amps, good line inputs, good circuitry and have sub-par converters. you can get a sound card made for recording for very little money. If you want to record, i would invest in one. MOTU, Focusrite and RME are good sound card companies that make great interfaces for recording
