    Yes. Audio is working correctly in the guest OS where the device is set to: Unknown Volume Control 1 (Sun Audio Mixer) I want to add one more bit of information. In the same laptop I have a Window XP Pro SP3 partition with VitualBox 2.1.4 I can startup the same ubuntu 8.10 image and have no problem with the sound in that case. Thanks. Paolo

    Just recently I started to get no sound from my Dell Dimension 8400 running Ubuntu 8.10. Speakers are plugged in and I am able to get sound when I run the 9.04 live disk, but there is no video support for my card so upgrading is not an option at this time. As I said, I removed Pulse so that option has been exhausted.
