Recently, although Twonky still lets client devices navigate the content, when an item is selected to play, it fails. The error reported depends on the client device - one says “network timeout”, another just hangs, another says “cannot play song”. Same story if I access Twonky via port 9000 and select Local Device.

There’s no obvious SQL database (e.g. Twonky.db). well, there was’n’t. I’ll have to go and check again. I note that I’m running Twonky v7.2.9. I’ve just tried to access the recreated Twonky server database with MediaConnect on the iPad. All looks good, with the file structure and metadata categories all nicely populated. Great.

That might be the problem (as you seem to suspect). Make sure you have the Bubble local media server disabled; it may well be that your clients are seeing the Twonky Server and the Bubble server, and offering you both copies, using certain of the DLNA ‘views’. Since MP4 can be either video or audio, I’m thinking there’s a metadata element that Twonky sees in the video that triggers it to sort as Audio. It likely won’t happen if you use the M4V extension (Which is MP4 Video.) My Cloud disconnects while streaming video Asher October 15, 2015, 5:10am #10

There are no subtitles when i stream movies over DLNA, with the current version on the WD firmware which is 7.2.9-6_7.5.0-77.
